Dairy Queen surprises Taylor Swift fans with a purple-themed treat, sparking speculation of a Swiftie collaboration.
Roll out the purple carpet, because there’s a new Swiftie in town who has startled Taylor Swift devotees in a good way.
Dairy Queen may be better known for its Blizzards and burgers, but now it’s making headlines for something quite different: joining the ranks of Swifties.
It’s possible that Dairy Queen‘s recent Instagram post of a Cotton Candy Blizzard draped in purple linen doesn’t stand out all that much. A purple heart accompanied the words “Treat Now” in the image caption.
The many shades of purple are an homage to Taylor’s fondness for the color, and the caption “Treat Now” alludes to the title of her third studio album, Speak Now. Her music videos and concert outfits both feature prominent purple elements.
DQ’s social media post left Taylor Swift followers with only one question: “IS DQ A SWIFTY???” Did they just casually launch a Blizzard with Taylor’s influence?
The Instagram photo from Dairy Queen was received with a barrage of comments, many of which asked, “Is tha Queen a swiftie?” Also, “not dairy queen being a swiftie.”
One commenter praised the eatery for channeling their inner Swiftie, saying, “Oh, DQ!! I didn’t think it was possible for me to love you any more than I do.
Dairy Queen also posted the identical image to Twitter with the message “if your name is John…blocked and reported.” Even if you’re not a Swiftie, you probably know that Taylor dated fellow musician John Mayer and wrote “Dear John” after the two broke up.
Look at DQ, always starting trouble. For all the Johns out there, it appears there will be no Taylor Swift Blizzard.
