You like pancakes, right? Can we get some tacos? Imagine, if you will, a taco pancake.
Perhaps you’re wondering, “What are you taco-ing about?” It’s IHOP‘s newest invention: a portable pancake that comes in both sweet and savory varieties and is available for a limited time only.
The company conducted brand research when the “Choco-Pancake” debuted in Houston last summer to learn more about the quality, variety, and value that customers are seeking in new menu items.
In the words of IHOP’s executive chef and vice president of culinary operations, Arthur Carl II, “we didn’t want to simply redo that item, but rather bring to life a dish that leverages our best-selling pancakes in an innovative way that is both fun and different to deliver guests a unique dining experience.” We’re playing off our reputation as a great place for breakfast by offering these portable pancake creations, which can be enjoyed sweet, savory, or both, at any time of day.
When to eat taco pancakes, and where to get them
You can get a stack of three taco pancakes for $6 at any participating IHOP location, and they’re available all day long. Only from July 5-30 can you get your hands on one.
From July 21st through the 30th, PanCoins members can earn three times as many reward points.
The new taco pancake menu options
- Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake Pancake Taco: Tacos made of a silver dollar pancake stuffed with strawberry mousse and chocolate chips are a delicious dessert option.
- Caramel Banana Pancake Taco: A silver dollar pancake folded in half with dulce de leche caramel sauce, sliced bananas, and vanilla or chocolate chip-studded cheesecake mousse.
- Breakfast Pancake Taco: The Breakfast Pancake Taco is a silver dollar pancake stuffed with scrambled eggs, hickory-smoked bacon, jack and cheddar cheese blend, and white cheese sauce. Use salsa as a condiment of choice.
- Country Chicken and Gravy Pancake Taco: Tacos made with a silver dollar pancake filled with country gravy, shredded hash browns, and crispy chicken, then topped with pickles for an added salty bite.
