IHOP® is thrilled to introduce NEW Pancake Tacos, portable pancakes available all day in sweet and savory varieties, following its largest menu evolution to date. The IHOP “Choco-Pancake” made a great premiere at a local Houston, Texas store last summer, and now the team is introducing Pancake Tacos to tables worldwide, a first in the family dining industry.
Pancake Tacos were inspired by brand research that highlighted what customers want in new menu items, including quality, choice, and value, along with IHOP’s most recent innovations. Every choice IHOP makes is influenced by customer feedback and needs, like deciding to use fresh berries and bacon, two popular ingredients that offer options for everyone, anytime of the day.
According to Chef Arthur Carl II, Vice President, Culinary at IHOP, “As the leader in breakfast, we were inspired to expand the Pancake Taco concept following IHOP’s ‘Choco-Pancake’ cultural breakthrough from last summer.
To give customers a special dining experience, we didn’t just want to repeat that item; we wanted to create a dish that uses our best-selling pancakes in an inventive approach that is both entertaining and different. These portable pancake designs tap into our morning equities while offering everyone a sweet, savory, or even a combo option to enjoy throughout the day.
IHOP’s Pancake Tacos are available all day long, and they come in both sweet and savory varieties.
Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake Pancake Taco: A folded silver dollar pancake filled with freshly cut strawberries and a rich cheesecake mousse. Add chocolate chips on top for even more decadence!
Caramel Banana Pancake Taco: Inside a folded silver dollar pancake, a creamy cheesecake mousse is topped with sliced bananas and drizzled with dulce de leche caramel sauce. Add chocolate chips on top for even more decadence!
Breakfast Pancake Taco: A folded silver dollar pancake stuffed with scrambled eggs, hickory-smoked bacon, jack and cheddar cheese, and white cheese sauce. For a touch of heat, add salsa on top!
Country Chicken and Gravy Pancake Taco: A folded silver dollar pancake stuffed with crispy chicken, shreds of hashbrowns, and country gravy. Add pickles to the top for an additional salty crunch!
Pancake vs Taco Debate
Pancake Tacos from IHOP will satisfy your breakfast taco or pancake cravings. The issue, though, is whether or not this is a Pancake or a Taco. IHOP has enlisted the help of TikTok creators to provide an answer to this question. True to form, social media influencers will ask their audiences to weigh in on the debate over whether IHOP’s new Pancake Tacos are more akin to pancakes or tacos, with the hashtag #PancakeorTaco.
Starting on July 5th, you can find Pancake Tacos at certain IHOP locations around the country until July 30th.
