National Fried Chicken Day is a made-up holiday, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it on July 6th.
The National Day Calendar, where you can keep track of all 365 days of celebrated dates like National Popcorn Day (January 19) and National Graham Cracker Day (July 5), claims it is still investigating “the origins of this food holiday.”
Finding a location to celebrate National Fried Chicken Day is easier than you may think, as many fast food companies and restaurants are offering free or discounted chicken wings, sandwiches, and meals in honor of the holiday. You can celebrate the day even if you don’t want to leave the house by making fried foods in an air fryer.
In addition to July 4th, there are two more national chicken holidays in July: July 27th is Chicken Finger Day and July 29th is Chicken Wing Day.

Free delivery and a 50-wings deal at Bonchon
In celebration of National Fried Chicken Day, the Asian fusion fast food restaurant chain Bonchon is providing free delivery on all online orders placed at Bonchon.com till Thursday. Fifty wings are available for $65. Try Bonchon’s new Korean BBQ sauce: “made with gochujang, rice vinegar, and brown sugar, with flavors of garlic and sake balanced with sweet pear.”
KFC’s free delivery promotion and Aruba vacation giveaway
In celebration of National Fried Chicken Day (July 5), KFC is offering free delivery on all purchases placed through KFC.com or the KFC mobile app (offer valid through July 9). Among the seasonal menu additions:
- KFC’s new Fill Up Box costs $20 and includes 12 chicken nuggets, 4 chicken pieces, 4 fries, 4 biscuits, and 4 dipping sauces.
- KFC’s famous honey BBQ sauce, hickory-smoked bacon, crispy fried onions, melted cheese, and pickles are on a premium brioche bread in the Ultimate BBQ Chicken Sandwich, which also has an extra-crispy white meat filet.
You can enter to win a trip for two to Aruba for four days and three nights by purchasing an Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich on the KFC mobile app or kfc.com between now and August 13. A year of premium access to Going, the travel bargain provider, will be awarded to up to 500 additional winners.

Popeyes’ free delivery deal
From now through July 9 on the Popeyes app, website, or DoorDash, you can get a free a la carte chicken sandwich when you order any chicken sandwich combo (classic, spicy, blackened, or bacon & cheese).
Buffalo Wild Wings’ BOGO boneless wings deal
Even though Thursday isn’t designated as National Fried Chicken Day, you may get one free order of boneless wings at Buffalo Wild Wings every Thursday.
