A recent Forbes list places the supermarket at number 133 out of 400 businesses.
According to Forbes, Publix is a top company for female employees. Publix has made the list for four consecutive years, and this year it came in at number 133 overall and ninth in the retail and wholesale sector.
The ranking was determined by an impartial survey that polled over 60,000 American workers, including over 40,000 women, from organizations with at least 1,000 employees. Women’s issues in the workplace such as advancement opportunities, family leave policies, workplace flexibility, discrimination, and equal pay were evaluated by survey respondents.

According to Forbes’s ranking, around two-thirds of American women participated in the labor force a decade ago. According to the Center for American Progress, that number has risen to 75%.
The rating was developed in collaboration with the research firm Statista to aid women in determining which businesses best meet their needs and to provide a benchmark against which businesses can measure their own progress in promoting gender parity in the workplace.
Publix, headquartered in Lakeland, Florida, employs more than 240,000 people throughout its 1,346 locations and is the largest employee-owned corporation in the United States. The organization has been named an excellent place to work by Fortune for 26 years running.
