The Kroger Co. Foundation Awards $300,000 in Scholarships to Children of Kroger Associates

The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) Foundation (“Foundation”) announced today that it will give $300,000 to 120 kids for the 2023-2024 school year. All of the scholars are the children of Kroger employees. They each get $2,500 to put toward any two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school that has been approved. Since the Kroger Scholars Program began in 2008, it has given out more than $4.8 million in scholarships.

“This chance means everything to me. My dad has been a part of the Kroger Family for fifteen years, and I was lucky enough to join them two years ago,” said Olivia Giovanoni, a Kroger Scholar who is studying hospitality at Purdue University Fort Wayne. “I’m so grateful for this scholarship and for being a part of the Kroger Family.”

More than 90 colleges across the country will have Kroger Scholars from the 2023–2024 school year. Students were chosen based on a wide range of factors, such as volunteering, community service, extracurricular activities, academic success, and work experience.

Kroger Scholars is a company-wide program put on by The Kroger Co. Foundation. It is open to the biological, adopted, and stepchildren of Kroger Family of Companies employees who have worked at least 1,000 hours per year for at least two years.
