Janice Lambert, the woman she struck, claims she was singled out because of the color of her skin.

“It’s been nice to live in this area, where people seem to want to care for each other, which is what makes what happened yesterday so beyond hurtful,” Lambert added.

After 49 years of marriage, Lambert and her husband moved to Texas to be closer to their offspring and grandchildren.

On Monday afternoon, she brought two of her grandchildren grocery shopping. They decided to make sushi as their summertime activity.

In his own words, “We call it Nanny Camp,” Lambert explained. To paraphrase, “We have fun, but we’re going to learn something.”

Lambert said that she was assaulted by a lady using a shopping cart as she reached for some grapes.

According to Lambert, “I was completely taken aback, and I turned around to this lady and shouted, ‘Lady, you just hit me with your cart. “I know I did,” she avers. You shouldn’t be in this place. You are in the wrong place. And the fruit is being hoarded by your children.

In spite of Lambert’s best efforts, the mother persisted in pursuing her grandkids. She tried Walmart security first, and when that didn’t work, she called The Colony Police.

Surveillance footage, the police told her, proved the culprit had singled her out without provocation. Clark was taken into custody while shopping.

Lambert said that the girl needed to know that her actions would have repercussions and that she would be punished severely if she did it again.

She is currently waiting to have an MRI performed on her leg and hip to determine the extent of any damage caused by the cart. She has multiple myeloma, a blood malignancy, and maintains that it exacerbates any injury she sustains.

The fact that my grandchildren were exposed to such hatred, racism, and brutality is the most painful thing to me,” Lambert remarked.

Lambert acknowledged that they will be more cautious on future excursions because of the incident, but she stressed that she did not wish for her grandchildren to be traumatized.

Assault against a person 65 or older or a person with a disability is a Class A misdemeanor, and Clark is being charged with it.
